Decided to finally get inked.

I've been meaning to get a tattoo forever. There are two that I want, but I can never quite finish the designs to my satisfaction.

So I started thinking about another in the interim. I decided to get something similar to the photoshop at left. It's the marking off my Mom's and my brother's headstones. It's got eight shamrocks, one for each of us, so until I figure out what I want to do with the others, I decide to get this one.

A bunch of us make an appointment at Stingray Tattoo in Allston, MA. I talk to one of the artist there (Josh) and he's real helpful. Says he doesn't want to give me one I won't be happy with. Explains some of the limitations as far as spacing. Thought the knotting would be a problem and that I'll probably have to reduce the complexity for the size I want, but first get a better pic (the one I had was way too low res). Like his art too, did a few of my friends and they came out nice.

So I head off, get a better picture and do up the Photoshop. I go to email it to him. There's a contact form on Stingray Tattoo's site, but that's no good as it's an attachment. No email listed on the site, so I call up Stingray. Don't know who this guy is that answered, but initially, he's helpful. I ask him what the email is and he starts trying to tell me how to attach I file, I explain that I just need the email address, as it's not on the site and he gets it for me.

Ok, so far so good. Was hoping to see if Josh thought it was workable now so I could get it that night, but wasn't counting on it. Like most places, net is an afterthought. So I figure I'd wait a few days for a response.

So no response comes after 5 days. No biggie, kind of half expected it. So I call up to see if he had a chance to look at it. Girl puts me on hold for a few. A couple minutes later, the same guy from the first call picks up. Says that Josh is working on someone but I have your number and I'll have 'em call you. I'm just about to leave work so I ask if I could give him another number. He sighs and says hold on...

Then I hear him, not even muttering under his breath, it was louder than he was talking to me. "Oh hold on a sec, Mr Fucking Important here needs... (unintelligable). Then the fuck picks back up the phone like I couldn't just hear that and sounds all polite again.

I'm just dumbstruck at this asshole. Part of me wants to fucking lose it, part of me wants to just ignore it as I really wanted to get it tomorrow and I've got a bit of confidence with Josh. So I just bite my tongue. Stew over it a bit, really trying not to get too worked up. Fuck it, he ain't doing it whoever he is, but after about 10 minutes, It becomes obvious that I won't be able to sit there for a few hours without getting into it.

WTF? Is it really that big a deal to write down a fucking phone number of someone you didn't get back to for almost a week? Especially when you plan on getting a few hundred bucks?

If you don't want your customers contacting you via the web, that's fine, don't put it out there though. Just tell me on the phone that I need to come back in or whatever, just don't be a douchebag over the slightest inconvenience.
