Dreamgear PS2 Mount - Howto
After modding the dreamgear with a retractable usb cable, I turned my attention back to the mount. I had one almost finished made out of this stuff called Raycrete. It came out pretty good.

I needed to polish it quite a bit though and after playing with thermoforming some abs, it occured to me that it might be better to just try and make one out of abs.
First thing I did was tape the usb extension in place so it wouldn't move so much. I took a small sheet of 1/8 abs, placed it on a sheet of tinfoil and placed it into a toaster oven at 350F until the plastic got soft.

When it was soft enough, I pulled out the sheet (wearing thick gloves) and pressed it over the keyboard, trying as hard as possible to get it to contour before it set up.
Here's a pic of the initial results.

You can see in this pic the contour matches well. Does a good job of keeping the keyboard in place.

I managed to scuff up the keyboard a bit. So I taped off the "F" keys and gave it a quick coat of paint.

All in all, I think even with finish work, this looks better than the first. The best part is minus heating time, it took about 15 minutes.
