Mass Media Companies (circa 2000)
How many media companies aren't owned by some giant corporation? Most people unfortunately blindly trust the sound bites they hear as fact.
The majority of media news outlets are blatantly biased. Just look at your local paper for an example. News is supposed to be unbiased facts with the conclusions drawn by the public. Even worse, the relationships between all these jointly owned Media outlets is less than apparent.
Unfortunately, apathy and the increase demand on our limited attention is making it increasingly difficult to draw our own conclusions about what is going on in the world around us. There is just too much information for the majority of people to comprehend. We as a society have been raised to trust the judgements of media companies in place of our own judgement.
The Media can make America rally for a war or condemn it. It can decide who runs our country.
In today's society, it is becomming increasingly hard to keep up. How they hell are you supposed to know what's really going on outside of your own state? Even your own city?
